I love when you’re able to judge a book by it’s cover, when I first picked up When Jesus Was A Green-Eyed Brunette by Max Davis. The Christian life is not a matter of behaving like Christ, but of allowing Christ Himself to live in and through us.
I am crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me.— Galatians 2:20
When Jesus Was a Green-Eyed Brunette weaves heartwarming and miraculous stories of Jesus showing up in ordinary people, revealing that He knows us and is fully present in our everyday circumstances, especially in our difficulties. Those hurting and weary from worn-out religion are longing for a fresh touch from the living Jesus.
Best-selling author Max Davis challenges us to do more than simply receive God’s grace—we need to allow grace to soften, change, and shape us. As you read this book you will laugh, cry, and come face-to- face with the living Jesus, much like Davis did, when he found Him living in a green-eyed brunette. As Davis puts it, “Jesus is very much alive today and still does incredible things—sometimes supernatural things—through us!”
Max Davis is the author of over 20 published books and has been featured in USA Today and Publishers Weekly and has appeared on The Today Show and The 700 Club. He holds degrees in Journalism and Biblical Studies and is a much sought-after speaker for churches and organizations worldwide. He and his wife, Alana, live on 50 beautiful acres in Greenwell Springs, Louisiana.
I believe what the author is trying to say is that being a Christian isn’t about who you are on the outside, but what’s on the inside. However if you live a Godly life and have Jesus on in the side, it will show on the outside. The author said he was led to publish books, that God led him to do it. I love this, because God takes broken people to help other broken people. I am a firm believer on this. This book is what I needed for my weary soul. I’ve been struggling a lot over the few years and this year, my faith with God has really grown and it’s been amazing.
I highly recommend When Jesus was a Green-Eyed Brunette not only for yourself, but I also think it would make a great gift for someone who is struggling with his or her purpose in life. You can find out more here or order it on Amazon!
