When was the last time you had a board game night in your home? It’s been awhile hasn’t it. My friend and I try to have them every other week. Depending on when everyone is working, it normally falls on a Friday. A week or two we played these games; Balance Beans, Escape the Room: Mystery at the Stargazer’s Manor, Yoga Spinner & Clue Master from ThinkFun.
I have to admit out of all the games – I’m not sure I could picked my favorite. They all cover different aspect in a game, to the point it makes it enjoyable for all ages. The kids loved the Yoga Spinner game. While it was entertaining as all get out watching the adult do the different poses – the kids won that game. Clue Masters reminded me as sudoku – first I was kinda confused, but then when someone said it was like that – it all made sense after that. The younger kids didn’t catch on as fast as the adults. It was overall fun though.
Balancing of the Beans is fun for all ages. I think I had the most fun with. It definally made you think if nothing else. Last but not least, Escape the Room – Let’s face it, first we were confused. There’s clues for the game on ThinkFun’s website, that helped us out to get the game started. You have 2 hrs to “escape” the room and we solved it in less than a hour. I played with people who wanted to figure out all the puzzles themselves, not much of sharing the task, that kinda ruined the game to me honestly. To be able to have a game night without electronics is always a win-win for me.
